6th Invention to Innovation summit held at PU
Institute of Trade and Competitiveness (ITC) participated in “6th Invention to Innovation Summit” held at Punjab University Lahore on 8-9 March, 2017. The Summit aimed to provide a great learning experience and opportunity to promote research and innovation culture in the country and to contribute towards its goal to make innovative Pakistan.
Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Prof Ahsan Iqbal was the chief guest in the inaugural ceremony. He visited ITC stall and was inspired by the vision behind the establishment of this institute and asked ITC team to analyze the declining trend of exports in the country and submit its findings to the relevant ministries.
People from academia, industry representatives and students also visited the stall and were interested to know the role of ITC. The interactive sessions on the sideline of the summit were attended by numerous academic institutions and industrialists to discuss various issues. The discussion was emphasized on the need to strengthen industry academia linkages to produce value added goods to compete with international markets.
